CAPRICORN ONE is, still interested in assisting others in the industry in fulfilling their own creative potential.  Services can range from writing simple music-video concepts to film, video, and television production need. We can .provide production assistant for local commercial or security major motion picture. We can provide with the wiliness to get the job done! We can assist in help plan a filmmaker’s first production schedule.

While many production companies specialize in one particular area, we feel that by offering a wide variety of services our clients can choose from a menu of options that meet their specific needs.

Working in so many diverse fields allows us to offer many cross over services under one roof; there is never a need to work with several different companies to get all of your production and needs met.

From the moment you contact us - WE TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY!  An immediate appointment for a consultation is arranged usually within a few days. During your initial consultation'(which costs you nothing) we find out what your needs are and we encourage you to review our qualifications.  If you like what you see .and you will, we move into the planning phase.

The first part of the planning phase is a complete review of your budgetary demands. We are very flexible in negotiating our fees, whether a straight fee, a payment plan or even a barter arrangement, we try to work with you in establishing an arrangement that will make everyone happy. The second step in the planning phase is the development of a PRODUCTION PLAN

        Leon Watkins graduated from Kennedy High School in Richmond, California He subsequently joined the United States Marine Corps and became an official Marine Corps photographer for several years.  It was during his tour of duty with the Marine Corps, that Leon had the honor of photographing the President of the United States, “Ronald Reagan”, Secretary of the Navy “John Lehmen” and Commandant of the Marine Corps. “Paul X. Kelley”

     Upon leaving the Marines, Leon began pursuing a career in the movie and television industry.  After working on his first feature film, “Glory,” as a stand-in and featured background, Leon founded The Walking Ghost of Black History Re-enactment Group.  

     Leon hosted the premiere of “Glory” in Chicago, Illinois in January 1990, representing The Walking Ghost of Black History and “Glory.”

     Leon was featured in a LIFE magazine article in February 1990 and in New York Times in 1993.  The Walking Ghost won first prize in the Veteran’s Day Parade, Oakland, California also involved Juneteenth Celebration Re-Encampment Encampment Naturalization Ceremony and Wreath Ceremony, Buffalo Soldiers.

    Leon also founded Capricorn One Productions, which enabled him to work with cable access programming and music video production in the cities of Savannah, GA Richmond, CA Denver, Colorado.

   Leon’s interests include filmmaking, I have worked on such films as “Driving Miss Daisy,” “Forrest Gump,” and “Spider Man 1 & 2,” My most recent film work was on “ Afro Ninja,” “April Fools” & “The Iron Man” where I worked as Associate Producer, Production Manager and 1st Assistant Director, also stand-in for both Morgan Freeman and Bill Nunn. 

   Other interests are Photography and writing. He is particularly interested in Vietnam and Civil War history.

  Leon is a qualified photo lab technician and has free-lanced for historical documentation, radio promotional and music concerts.

   He’s a self-starter who is energetic and resourceful, and very determined to achieve my goals.  I would like the opportunity to work with you and to develop more skills and knowledge in the area of Living History.


James Lew /

Raised in South Central Los Angeles, James Lew's destiny was to answer a cattle call in Hollywood for the hugely popular "Kung Fu" (1972) television series. He went on to star in the now collectible Hong Kong film, "Young Dragon." He made the move to big budget studio films in 1984. John Carpenter handpicked him as the Martial Arts Choreographer for 20th Century Fox's now cult film, Big Trouble in Little China (1986)

             James was voted "Favorite Action Star" by fans of Inside Martial Arts magazine. Internet fans voted him into the Hall of Fame in the Martial Arts History Museum. Inside Kung Fu Magazine inducted him as one of the "Martial Arts Greats" alongside legends as Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and his longtime friend Jackie Chan.

            Most recently, James Lew wrote, directed and starred in a movie inspired by his personal experiences in the business titled 18 Fingers of Death! (2006) (V). The story follows Buford Lee (James Lew), the most famous unknown "B"-minus, low-budget, martial-arts movie star and Ronald Mack (Maurice Patton), a young black kid from the hood. Together they laugh and bond together on their quest to finally make Buford's break out movie, 18 Fingers of Death!

           Commanding performer Bill Nunn made his feature debut in fellow Morehouse College graduate Spike Lee's School Daze (1988), but really etched himself into moviegoers' minds as a formidable screen presence in his second film with Lee, Do the Right Thing (1989), playing Radio Raheem, whose ever-present boom box is at the center of a fight that leads to his death at the hands of an overzealous white cop, the prelude to the all-out riot that follows (Nunn also acted in Mo' Better Blues)


Larry Thompson / Producer / Music Director

              Larry has worked in the music field for over 15 years, with various musicians, bands, rappers, etc.

              Larry teamed up with childhood friend Leon Watkins to form The Capricorn One Production & Promotions Company in 1992. Since 1992 Capricorn Promotions has worked with local musicians in creating and producing music videos, television shows, gospel shows, etc.

              Larry has played in a band called Trans Action, where he played trumpet and sung background vocals. In 1984 Larry picked up the bass guitar, which he learned to play by ear. Larry has worked with various bands in the Bay Area as a Promoter, Road Manager, Sound Engineer, etc.
